DISCOVERY AND RESEARCH

The Latino Community Foundation faced challenges with their ongoing visual communication needs. They needed a strategic design partner who could provide additional capacity and bring specialized expertise in authentic design and marketing.

Through collaborative discussions and brand research, we found that LCF required support in three main areas:

  1. Strategic design leadership to unify their visual approach across diverse campaigns and values of the organization

  2. Expanded creative capacity with hands-on execution capabilities

  3. Culturally informed design expertise to authentically connect with Latino communities

STRATEGY + CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Creative Direction Process: As Lead Creative Director, I facilitated collaborative brainstorming sessions with our design team, guiding conceptual development while ensuring alignment with LCF's mission and values. I provided strategic direction on visual approaches, managed team designers, and maintained quality control throughout the creative process while also producing hands-on design work.

Strategic Design Process: Throughout our partnership, I've maintained a collaborative approach that balances:

  • Visual impact that captures attention on various platforms

  • Adaptability across multiple issues and sub-branded campaigns

  • Accessibility to diverse age groups within the target community

  • Cultural authenticity and respectful representation

  • Equal effectiveness in both English and Spanish communications

Design Results & Impact

As a comprehensive design partner for LCF, I've provided strategic and hands-on support across multiple areas of their communication needs:

Voter Engagement Campaigns:

  • Developed the "Voto por Voto: Nuestra Voz, Nuestro Poder" GOTV campaign identity with street art influences and cultural symbolism

  • Designed digitally shareable assets that community members could easily distribute, like Social Media Headers and Zoom Backgrounds

  • Produced event materials for in-person voter engagement activities

Data Visualization & Research Communication:

  • Transformed complex Latino voter poll results into accessible, engaging visual narratives

  • Created infographics highlighting community needs and policy priorities

  • Developed visual systems for communicating statistical information across platforms

Organizational Marketing Content:

  • Built comprehensive content libraries for ongoing social media needs

  • Established visual guidelines for consistent brand presence across channels

  • Developed branded templates for recurring communications

  • Supported organizational events with custom materials and visual assets

  • Created Long Form Reports for outreach and organizational needs
